Our first store in San Francisco is situated on Fillmore Street, in a neighbourhood shaped by consecutive influxes of Eastern European, Japanese and African-American residents, and the heydays of American jazz and rock. The result of a collaboration with Boston- and New York-based architectural firm NADAAA.
Founded in 2020, Compton’s Coffee House is a local San Francisco family owned cafe. Our primary mission is to serve a great cup of coffee in a genuinely friendly and inviting atmosphere. We have tailored our store to be community focused and strive to be a positive contribution to the historic Pacific Heights and Japantown neighborhoods that encompass lower Fillmore street.

Vas has deep roots in the Fillmore community having run a successful store in the corridor for 25 years. He has also been Vice President of the Fillmore Merchants Association for 10 years, and was appointed more recently to be the Executive Director. Vas is proud to lead the oldest merchant association in San Francisco, and sees the neighborhood as a village, or family of merchants. The Fillmore corridor is often called the heart and soul of San Francisco with its over 250 shops to choose from.
SF family owned small batch gelato shop. We make our product on premises using the highest quality of traditional ingredients imported from Italy, emulating the Emilia–Romagna style while also incorporating an array of non-dairy gelato (oat milk) and sorbetto (water based), including seasonal fresh fruit from northern California.
